Jon Shoemaker

Left wing, right wing, chicken wing - it’s all the same to me.

A Brief List

It has been nearly two months since I have written. A few complaints, but generally my leave of absence from the internet world has been well accepted. Here is what I am thinking:

  • I have been working a ton, but I really enjoy it. More stories on that to follow.
  • School was overwhelming, so I dropped half of it. Life is good.
  • There are Oreos in my house.
  • I have developed an obsession with Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. I am in the middle of season 2. The suspense is building.
  • I hope Regis is doing okay.
  • It is much to hot here for it to be winter. I am going to need my truck’s air conditioning fixed sooner than later.
  • Demons are no laughing matter.
  • Driving with lights and siren in an ambulance is a rush - though I have proven the stereotype of Asians being bad drivers is indeed based on truth.
  • Sociology is dumb.
  • I have yet to see 300, should I?
  • You know how people have those out-of-body experiences? They are full of crap - I have yet to have one.
  • Lost is on tonight.
  • Do not snow-shoe in the Sierras after dark with only a pocket-knife. Cougars are hungry.
  • Chris Thile’s new album “How to Grow a Woman from the Ground” is incredible.
  • My birthday is coming. Aaron owes me a great gift.
  • Next week I am working 72 hours.
  • I miss Matt, David, Korn and Brian.
  • Saving money is better than not having money.
  • To hell with the devil.

  1. 1) I love Hemingway

    2) When you get to the last season of Lois and Clark try to remember how you felt at the beginning.

    3) Yesterday, I sat at an intersection watching an elderly Asian woman cross the street forcing an ambulance and paramedic truck wait for her. She saw them coming and crossed in front of them anyhow. What we can learn from this is that Asians may in fact be good drivers, but they’re all bound by code to impede emergency response professionals in any way they can.

    4) 300 was less gory than I expected it to be.

  2. I miss Brian, too. I see David and Korn every Sunday, Sunday night, and Wednesday night. David tried to steal my bike yesterday while at church. I almost ran him over.

  3. Oreos are awesome, and so is 300. Haven’t heard Chris Thile’s new album yet, but I assume your statement pretty much sums it up. Holy crap, that’s a lot of hours. Six shifts? Saving money is better, but it still sucks. And go Five Iron Frenzy

  4. My Name Is Brian says:

Do not snowshoe at night…with just a poket knife…is a very good one!

Hey, I miss you too Jon.
