As I have mentioned before, I signed up for Blockbuster online rentals. I think it is an awesome service. Unfortunately, the last two DVD’s sent have never shown. Fortunately, customer service seems great and they send another no questions asked. I am certain they have my correct address, I think there is a bigger problem.
I just sent an e-mail to Blockbuster customer service. When a DVD is sent, the packaging proudly comes in my mailbox as if it is some advertisement - the Blockbuster logo large on one side pointing people to their website, the reverse side is similarly branded in the same fashion. Wouldn’t that be a target for theft in the postal service? It is shaped closely to a DVD, it bears all the Blockbuster Online advertisements, I couldn’t imagine it being too hard to be “removed” from it’s expedition to my house. Not to offend any postal worker and cause them to go “postal,” but I don’t think postal workers are held to the highest moral obligation, although it is a federal offense to steal mail. I just can’t imagine it being that hard of a crime to commit for a few free DVD’s.
Now, I appreciate Blockbuster Online for being so willing to ship me another without questions, but I feel bad asking for my third copy of “March of the Penguins” having never received the previous two. In my kind letter to them, I suggested they would save lots of money in lost DVD’s and printing if they just shipped DVD’s in more discrete packaging. Then I will be a happy customer, not going for three weeks without a movie to watch. Just a thought.
I think it more likely that other people are stealing it out of your mail box, rather than the postman, who have everything anyone could want already.
Aaron, you are completely right, its like you stole my thoughts, maybe your a postman too or a neighbor who steals out of mailboxes, I thought you were better than that, but I was severly wrong. Tisk, tisk…
i own the thrilling and heart touching movie taxi becuase some one ordered from blockbuster.com and sent it to the wrong address. and therefore now its ours…. if a movies gonna b sent to the wrong address tho id prefere it would b something worht keeping. ill keep an eye out for your those mr shoe becuz u never kno maybe they just like me better and theyll send it to me instead.
worth*…….yours*……. tho*
I was SO disappointed to find out that the Reno 911 / Stella guys wrote Taxi. How could such a horror happen?!? Maybe they just don’t know how to write for features.
Also - if your local shop has the video, then they get stuck with sending the video out to you. So here’s the question… do you trust your local Blockbuster?
This line of commenting leads me to reccomend two things. 1) The movie “Taxi Driver”, with Robert Dinero. and 2) The song “Stealing people’s mail” by the dead kennedy’s.
well 1) i certainly hope taxi driver is better than taxi becuz well lets just say i dont think it won any acdemy awards and 2) im sry but i dont really like dead anything! let alone dead ppl stealing stuff!
My family has that same Blockbuster mail thing, and so far we’ve only had one instance where the movie didn’t get here on time. It was 24, though. Our March of the Penguins came when it was supposed to. Maybe your mailman is the only criminal out there.
I was totally taking your post seriously until you said you were ordering “March of the Penguins”
