Potpourri

Potpourri Explained

Allow me to quickly clear up some language barriers that prohibit some from fully comprehending my weblog: potpourri does not relate to the fancy smelling flowers at all. While I constantly stink, these things have no correlation. Potpourri is a collection containing a variety of sorts of things, in this case, my thoughts. So without anything further, I give you my first bit of potpourri:

Christian Cheerleaders: Just when I could not enjoy ABC Nightly News any further, they come on with a story about a camp in Oklahoma that encourages Christian’s to put God first in their activities, in this case cheerleading. What a novel concept as Christian’s, to put God first. While this story was encouraging to be on national news, ABC did a terrible job of the portrayal of Christians. The whole story capitalized on the segregation, of how these cheerleaders are in a better environment, away from the gaudy Brittany Spears dance influence. As Christian’s, while our actions must obviously reflect our faith, is there a line to where it is pure segregation, and we are not in the world we are out to save?

Runaway Bride: I got a good laugh after the Cheerleader story when the fiancée of the infamous runaway bride was on talking about how excited he is to take his bride-to-be back. Did he not get the hint the first time she ran away? Clearly they have a strong line of communication in their relationship, since actions are meaningless. “She just had cold feet.” I think her feet must have about fallen off, and that the desperate groom needs to shop online for a new mate.

AP Calculus Test: My heart skips a beat as I eagerly look forward to this four hour test tomorrow. I am really hoping I pass, although, passing with a three or better will only get me out of one quarter of college calculus: I need to take five quarters of calculus.

Extreme Makeover-Home Edition: Is it just me or is this the greatest show on television?
